Nate Purcell began his lampworking career in Boulder, Colorado in 1998. He moved to Philadelphia to work as an independent glass sculptor in 1999 and began to love the Philly art community. In 2005, Purcell opened Silica Galleries, the first gallery of its kind. In 2006 he exhibited glass and metal bracelets with Philly-based Snyderman-Works Gallery at the Sculptural Objects & Functional Art show in New York. Nate additionally was the first to bring pies to SOFA Chicago in 2007. “My body of work represents the things that I love and cherish in life.
